The 1720 class diesel locomotives was a very successful type of 60 ton locomotives introduced in 1966.They were the first locomotives in Australia to be fitted with the then new GM 645 series engine. They developed 1000 horsepower and were used all over the Queensland network particularly in branchline and Brisbane suburban services.
This kit was originally produced by Wuiske Models and is now offered by Quvic Models by arrangement with Wuskie Models.
The kit consists of the necessary components for the body and bogie sideframes. A suitable mechanism can be purchased separately from Quvic Models.
